MCMS GIVES BACK!!

What we did: Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience making a difference through teamwork—working together to aid thousands of children and adults in the fight blood cancers like leukemia.
How it Works: Students collect spare change over a three-week period during February or March. The change can come from friends or relatives or underneath the couch cushions. What's important is that the change is collected.

How MCMS Did: Thanks to Ms. Mann and the School Advisory Committee, our school was able to raise $1,956.66 this year!! The top classes were:
Mrs. Owen's Homeroom: $353.69 (won a pizza/ice-cream party!)
Mrs. Middleton's Homeroom: $274.26 (won a prize)
Mrs. Setzler's Homeroom: $216.55 (won a prize)
Mr. Arkin's Homeroom: $188.83

Thank you again for all of your efforts in March for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!!!
Pennies for Patients is all about making change that makes a difference!

7th Grade Job Shadowing

7th grade job shadowing is coming up on Friday April 20th! Make sure your student has filled out the form given to them by their homeroom teachers and sent it in to Mr. Ganzel or Mrs. Mann. Students who have a job shadowing application filed will be excused from their school absence that day. There are so many great opportunities out there for young people to learn more about. To sign yourself up for a fantastic experience, it could be as easy as a phone call. Local businesses and professionals would love to show students around and let them see first hand what type of work they do regularly. You don't have to go to a local school or go to work with your mom, dad, or aunt. You definitely shouldn't sit on the couch all day! Get out there and find an interesting career to learn about! If you need any suggestions or help, come see Mrs. Mann or Mr. Ganzel. We'll hook you up right.

Parent Survey

All students should have brought home a parent survey along with other important news information. This parent survey is paramount to structuring the future of the MCMS guidance program. We want to know how you feel about what we do on a regular basis for you and your child. We would love to hear positive things of course, but let us know what we need to give more attention to and what you think needs to be added/changed in the future. We're here for you, so let us know what we can do.
